Virtually Celebrate Mississippi’s Newest Parent Peer Support Graduates Friday, Mar. 20, 1:30-2 p.m.

Please come celebrate our most recent class of parent-peer supporters at our virtual graduation celebration this Friday, March 20, 2026, from 1:30 to 2 p.m. This class is eager to use their lived experience and the skills they learned this week to advocate with families. We hope you will get to know our newest graduates and support them as they support families and family-driven practice in their workplaces.

We invite our state agency partners, mental health and other system providers, MAP Team coordinators, current parent-peer supporters and anyone interested in parent-peer support to attend the graduation. It’s an excellent way to learn more about parent-peer support and how parent-peer support helps the system of care for children. MAP Team coordinators—if you are looking for families to join your MAP Teams, graduation can be a great place to meet them!

We appreciate the Mississippi Department of Mental Health’s financial and programmatic support for this training and parent-peer support in general.

We encourage any parent interested in parent-peer support to consider future training. You can learn more about what the virtual training covers and who is qualified to take it in this brochure.

We appreciate all the mental health providers implementing parent-peer support in their agencies.

Remember that Families as Allies is here for you, too! We can support you with recruitment, training, supervision and programmatic needs and issues. You can call us any time, and we can provide more in-depth technical assistance. We encourage anyone who works with parent-peer supporters to reach out to us and let us know how we can help you with parent-peer support.
