To Doctors: In Honor of National Physician Week

In honor of National Physician Week, March 26-31, we thank the many doctors who make a difference.

To the doctors who care for our children: Thank you for taking the time to listen to our children, and to us, and for valuing our expertise. We appreciate you seeing our children as people and supporting our hopes and dreams for them.

To the doctors who support our organization: Thank you for believing in families and for being ambassadors for family-driven practice. We appreciate you including us in your projects and working together with us on policy issues. It warms our hearts when you bring your colleagues to our events and when we reach out to decision-makers as partners.

To the doctors who champion integrated care: Thank you for realizing our children should be able to get their mental health care in the places they already get their other medical care. We appreciate your openness to family-centered practice and parent-peer support. Thank you for making medical homes truly feel like a home to us.

To the doctors and other medical professionals who are on the front lines of the COVID-19 outbreak: It is hard to find the words to express our gratitude to you and also our concerns for your safety and health. Your courage and unselfishness in the face of this pandemic are unprecedented. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

With much gratitude from the board, staff, and families of Families as Allies.
