Read our Public Comments on Mississippi DMH’s Operational Standards

We shared with you in a June 1 blog post that the proposed revisions to the 2016 Mississippi Department of Mental Health (DMH) Operational Standards were open for public comment.

We also said that we would make our public comments available to you. You can read our cover letter to the DMH with general comments here and our specific comments within the proposed standards here.  Click on the yellow boxes to read our comments and the small purple triangles to read our suggested language changes.

Contact Joy Hogge at jhogge@faams.org if you have feedback about the changes we suggested. The public comment period closed at 5 PM on June 15.

The DMH standards are state regulations. This article describes why it’s important to comment on federal regulations, but many of the principles also apply at the state level. We encourage all of you to comment on proposed policies.  It’s a great way to work together to make things better for all of our children.
