The CHAMP Project and Families as Allies are partnering to host a virtual summit on child telepsychiatry this Saturday, February 20 from 8:30 – 11:30 AM. Telepsychiatry is meeting with a psychiatrist or related mental health professional on a computer, tablet or phone rather than in person.
The event is free and you can register by emailing Gigi Holder at email@example.com. This summit is a result of a grant from the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry that was awarded to the partners after their collaboration on the application.
Planning for this summit was already in progress before the pandemic hit, but the onset of COVID-19 made the topic of telepsychiatry especially relevant and urgent. We hope to see families, mental health providers and policymakers there. There will be opportunities for questions and input through the morning so that we can all come away with ideas about how to make child telepsychiatry services as helpful as possible.
