Medicaid is Recruiting Beneficiary Advisory Committee Members

The Mississippi Division of Medicaid is excited to announce the establishment of a new Beneficiary Advisory Council.

The Beneficiary Advisory Council will be comprised of individuals who have firsthand experience with Medicaid programs and services. The Council will advise the State regarding their experience with program matters related to policy and effective administration of the Medicaid program.

We are currently seeking applications for Council members. If you have experience with Mississippi Medicaid services and are passionate about making a difference, we encourage you to apply.

Initial membership term will begin March 2025-December 2026

Application Deadline for initial membership term: January 19, 2025

Federal law requires states to develop these councils: “The State must form and support a BAC, which can be an existing beneficiary group, that is comprised of: individuals who are currently or have been Medicaid beneficiaries and individuals with direct experience supporting Medicaid beneficiaries (family members and paid or unpaid caregivers of those enrolled in Medicaid), to advise the State regarding their experience with the Medicaid program, on matters of concern related to policy development and matters related to the effective administration of the Medicaid program.”

Families as Allies urges parents and caregivers of children with Medicaid benefits who are interested in ensuring that Medicaid policies are responsive to all children and families to consider applying for this Council.
