At Our 4th Annual Community
Partnership Celebration
To Honor Those Who
Exemplify Our Core Values!
Each year we select four groups or individuals who have exemplified our core values in the previous year and honor them at our celebration. This year’s award winners are:
Our core value of Valuing Every Child and Family states: “We will not judge or blame you, and we will stand with you if you feel judged or blamed by others.”
The Lumumba’s willingness to be spokespersons for our infant and early childhood mental health awareness campaign and to work in partnership with families of young children to make sure the messages are supportive and responsive reflects not only this core value, but also their core commitment to citizen-driven government.
They also continue the work and legacy that the mayor’s father, the late Mayor Chokwe Lumumba, began with the families of young children in Jackson.
(FREDLA)
AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE
FREDLA’s training materials, online learning communities and wise and thoughtful Technical Assistance, all based on the best practices for this work, have helped families in Mississippi grow into new leadership roles and mentor and encourage even more families.
WRAPAROUND INSTITUTE
PARTNERSHIP
Our core value of Partnership states: “We will work in partnership with you and whoever you tell us is important to your family.”
The Mississippi Wraparound Institute has consistently demonstrated a commitment to partner with families and the people who are important to them and has also partnered with Families as Allies to identify ways to make Wrapround work better for families. We appreciate working with the institute to reach out to families, learn about how they experience Wraparound and partner with them to make it more responsive.
Our core value of Accountability states: “We will be open and honest with you about our organization and help you get information from the systems that serve your child.”
The Clarion-Ledger’s two-year journey to make the Technical Assistance Collaborative’s reports public and subsequent reporting made it possible for families, adults with serious mental Illness, and all other interested stakeholders to read for themselves how our system was assessed and the expert recommendations that were made.
