Jackie, who has been the office manager at Families as Allies for the past four years, is pursuing a new job opportunity. Jackie has done a great job helping us get and stay organized, as well as develop systems to track everything we do. That’s no small feat, considering all the directions our work takes us in!
She’s also been a tremendous ambassador for Families as Allies across the state. If you’ve been to a conference anywhere in Mississippi, chances are you’ve run into Jackie at our table, and she’s enthusiastically shared our mission and resources with you.
Jackie leaves no stone unturned when it comes to ensuring every family is aware of and has access to resources. She took it upon herself to ensure that we distributed outreach information to every library, many schools, and several convenience stores, as well as a few liquor stores across Mississippi.
When we started getting calls about families losing SNAP benefits, Jackie sprang into action and compiled a comprehensive list of resources and then called every one of those places to make sure they really were available to help families who needed food.
In short, Jackie has been a driving force behind, within and sometimes leading our work. You might not know that because she never draws attention to herself. She just devotes herself to doing good work. Indeed, it’s a fun “Families as Allies” fact that Jackie literally burned out two computers during her time with us because she worked so hard and so fast that even laptops couldn’t quite keep up with her.
Please join us in wishing Jackie the very best!
