The Families as Allies board oversees the strategic direction of the organization and ensures its sustainability. Because Families as Allies is an organization run by and for families of children with behavioral health challenges and special health care needs, families of children with disabilities are especially encouraged to apply. We also encourage individuals with fundraising experience to consider this exciting opportunity.
These are the specific duties of board members:
· Abide by the Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation
· Ensure Families as Allies meets all legal requirements of the State of Mississippi
· Attend all regular meetings of the board unless prior notice is given
· Set the strategic direction for Families as Allies
· Actively participate in the discussions at all Families as Allies board meetings
· Make a financial contribution that is personally significant
· Contribute to Families as Allies’ fundraising goals
· Review and approve the annual budget
· Ensure effective fiscal controls and accountability to donors and constituents
· Participate in board development training
· Act as an ambassador of Families as Allies in the community
