Join ‘Little Lobbyists’ Launch on Nov. 15 in Jackson

Our friend and partner, Susan Stearns, shared this invitation with us:

My name is Susan Stearns, and I am a leader of the Mississippi Chapter of Little Lobbyists, a national family-led organization advocating for children with complex medical needs and disabilities. We partner with families across the country to advance policies that protect access to healthcare, education, and community inclusion. I live in Oxford, and am the mother of two disabled children, one with severe cerebral palsy who qualifies for Medicaid via the Katie Beckett waiver program.

Next week we are officially launching our state chapter with an event in Jackson. We’d like to extend an invitation to you and to any state or county leaders who focus on disability rights or Medicaid access to attend, meet our families, and learn more about our work in Mississippi.

Event Details:
What:
Play With Purpose — Little Lobbyists Mississippi Chapter Launch
When: Saturday, November 15 | 12:30–3:00 PM
Where: Mississippi Children’s Museum, Jackson, MS

This family-friendly event will bring together children, parents, and advocates for an afternoon of inclusive play, connection, and conversation about how we can build a more accessible and equitable Mississippi for all families.

We’ve attached the event flyer with additional details. If you’re able, we’d also appreciate your help identifying anyone else engaged in healthcare and disability issues so we can extend a direct invitation.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like further information.
