On July 14, 2025, the Mississippi Department of Mental Health (DMH) posted its proposed 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline Centers rules with the Mississippi Secretary of State. The public can comment about these proposed rules for 25 days from when DMH filed them with the SOS.
Public comments are due by 5:00 p.m. on August 8, 2025. If you have comments, submit them to Ms. Ja’Quila Newsome, director of the DMH Division of 988, at JaQuila.Newsome@dmh.ms.gov.
