In the posted notice, the division described MBAC this way: “The purpose of the Mississippi Medicaid Beneficiary Advisory Council (MBAC) is to advise the Mississippi Division of Medicaid (DOM) Executive Director with recommendations that will enhance the experience of Medicaid members and facilitate access to high-quality medical care delivered in a cost-effective manner.”
At the last MBAC, the Council suggested Paid Family Caregiving as an agenda item for this meeting. Families as Allies is on record as urging the Division to partner with all relevant stakeholders, especially the families of waiver participants, to explore feasible and accountable models for paying legally responsible persons to provide certain services.
