How We Advocate

Families as Allies of Mississippi advocates for children, youth and their families. We work for continued system change.

Our advocacy efforts include:

  • Raising public awareness through information campaigns and social marketing techniques
  • Providing leadership, policy and legislative skills training for families
  • Lobbying and informing state legislators, agency administrators and our Congressional delegation on budgetary and policy issues affecting families, children and youth
  • Participating on local and state level case review teams and interagency policy committees and task forces

Families as Allies is funded through generous donations, training fees, grants from the Substance Abuse and Mental Heath Services Administration, the City of Jackson and the Department of Mental Health, and contracts with other non-profits and agencies.
