Press Releases

These are some of our most recent press releases related to children's mental health in Mississippi.

JUNE 10TH, 2016

This clarification was sent to us by Adam Moore, Director of Communications, Mississippi Department of Mental Health (phone: 601-359-2287)

The reporter contacted us requesting an interview to discuss this report, which states DMH spends approximately 77% of its budget on state psychiatric hospitals. I believe this is the same report Families as Allies is referencing that you have shared with others.

However, when that report was published last year, we recognized the information they used in compiling that report was incorrect. We contacted NRI, which revised their own data, but that doesn’t mean NASMHPD revised their own reports. We told the reporter the revised NRI data was available online here. The information at this link is accurate, whereas the NASMHPD report is not. Hope that helps.
