FAMILIES AS ALLIES HOSTS PARENTS MEETING IN TUPELO

tupelo_townhall.jpgFamilies as Allies hosted their second Parents Meeting and Town Hall in Tupelo last Saturday, August 27th. It was facilitated by staff member Henry Moore, who discussed with those who attended how to organize a parent support group, and how to become an effective advocate for your child in the mental health and school systems. Angela Flemmings assisted Henry in organizing the event.

Each year we select four groups or individuals who have exemplified our core values in the previous year and honor them at our celebration.

Families as Allies is funded through generous donations, training fees, grants from the Substance Abuse and Mental Heath Services Administration, the City of Jackson and the Department of Mental Health, and contracts with other non-profits and agencies.
